Fire Rescue Service Master Plan
The Plan was developed to:
- Define the ongoing role of Abbotsford Fire Rescue in helping to protect the health and safety of the community
- Outline the department’s future service model, which emphasized the dual importance of incident prevention and incident response
- Guide the department’s use of resources
The Master Plan process and our work were guided by an internal project committee, chaired by the Fire Chief. The committee included the Deputy and Assistant Chiefs, IAFF Executive Members, Administrative Staff and the City’s Director of Finance. We prepared all materials for the committee’s review, and facilitated committee meetings. We also wrote the draft and final Master Plan and, along with the Fire Chief, presented the Plan to Council.
