Burnaby Housing Authority

Neilson Strategies Inc. served as an advisor to the City of Burnaby Planning & Development Department in the creation of the Burnaby Housing Authority (BHA), a local government corporation, owned by the City of Burnaby and focused on the development of non-market and market housing.  We advised City staff and Council on structural and policy aspects of the BHA, collaborated closely with affected parties on a range of tasks, and prepared all materials required for submission to the Inspector of Municipalities.  

Neilson Strategies’ engagement continued, post-incorporation, with the Burnaby Housing Authority Corporation’s Board of Directors.  We facilitated a Board orientation session, then acted as the Board advisor during the Corporation’s six-month startup phase.
